Monday Night Adult Education Classes

(October 4, 2021 to April 25, 2022)

6:00-7:00 pm
Advanced Hebrew with Rabbi Rapport
Make the words of Torah your own. Learn to read and translate the Bible for yourself in a small circle of friends of varying ages, abilities, and background in Hebrew prayer and Bible. If you can read the words, we can open the door to Torah together. Our class progresses through a steadily growing vocabulary of the most common Hebrew words, so each story we read makes the next one easier to understand. Join us on the journey, make the words of Torah come alive.

7:00-8:00 pm
When God was Young
with Rabbi David

God is the number one Hero of the Bible. However, God of the creation story is different than God of the flood story, and different than the One of the binding story; God keeps changing! We will follow these changes through different stories and different biblical narratives and characters.

Basic Judaism

In this course, all Jewish holidays will be studied, as well as Jewish Life Cycle events from cradle to grave. Topics include but are not limited to: Jewish history, philosophy, ethics, practice, and Bible. Beyond our classes, we will experience the spirituality and tastes of Shabbat. We will journey together through the joy of the various Jewish holidays, visit our sanctuary and our Archive museum.

The Basic Judaism Class is a wonderful way for people who are considering becoming Jewish, interdating, and intermarried couples to learn together about Judaism.
