JLAB (Jewish Learning and Belonging)
Vision Statement

Growing an engaged and inclusive Jewish community, rooted in a shared commitment to Jewish learning, legacy, and joy.

Welcome to JLAB at The Temple! JLAB is a complete reimagining of the Religious School experience. We believe that learning should be engaging, inspiring, and instill a sense of Jewish Joy in everyone. At JLAB, everyone will learn Jewish values, beliefs, and practices through hands-on activities in an interest area of their choosing. With tracks for Grades K-6, including Art, Nature, and Building; and electives for Grades 7-8, including Podcasting, Art, and Cooking, there’s an experiential learning style to fit everyone!

Our vision is to grow an engaged and inclusive Jewish community, rooted in a shared commitment to Jewish learning, legacy, and joy.

With the goal of building community, our Sunday program includes:

  • Active, experiential learning that will incorporate a variety of arts, crafts, storytelling, technology, and creativity.
  • T’filah (services) for K-6 to start the program together. A spirited, musical experience to set the tone for the day. Parents are invited to join every week and sit with their children.
  • Learning styles to fit everyone and the opportunity to choose which learning path to take, including Nature, Building, Art, and more!
  • A curriculum that runs on a two-year cycle with two grades working together on Jewish Studies, allowing for expanded relationships between participants and families.
  • Active involvement from our Rabbi David and Rabbi Matt, including teaching B’nei Mitzvah, Judaic Studies, and Hebrew.
  • Recess for every Grade K-6 on Sundays with time to socialize and play together.

We hope you will join us on this journey and help us make a Joyful Ruckus!
