Israeli Giborim – Heroes of Light
Friday, February 23 at 7:00 pm

In conjunction with Temple Shalom and the Jewish Federation of Louisville, The Temple will welcome Israeli Giborim – Heroes of Light to speak at our Shabbat services on Friday, February 23, at 7:00 pm. The four survivors of the October 7th Hamas massacre are from Kibbutzim in the Gaza envelope and participants at the Nova Festival.

“At 6:30 am the attack started, and at first we didn’t understand what was happening.”
Galit Mutzarfi, Nova festival

“We stayed 27 hours in our ‘safe room’ until we could flee the kibbutz.”
Sharon Anna Yacobi, Kibbutz Gevim

“All of our children, and us, have been evacuated from our homes since October 7th in different places.”
David Bar, Kibbutz Alumim

“From a family point of view, we were very lucky, but we lost a lot of friends that day. And our friends are still kidnapped and we are waiting that they will return.”
Zohar Lahav-Shefer, Kibbutz Gevim

We hope to see you for this incredibly important program, however, the topics discussed may not be appropriate for children. With this in mind, The Temple will provide Childcare during service (RSVP Required).

Giborim | Heroes of Light program is part of the מתחברים | Mit-habrim | CONNECTIONS funding initiative, a partnership between the Israeli Government’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, JCC Association of North America and World Zionist Organization (WZO).
