Food for Thought
Friday, October 30 at 6:00 pm

Have you ever sat in a Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat service and wondered what we were actually saying in our prayers, why the service is structured the way it is, and why we are invited to add some choreography and movement to our prayers? If so, Rabbi Matt invites you to his Food for Thought Shabbat series. The evenings will begin with dinner and discussion at 6:00 pm, followed by a learner’s-style Kabbalat Shabbat service at 7:00 pm. Each time we gather, we will discuss a different part of the service, giving us deeper insight into the history of the prayers, when/why they may have been instituted, what they mean, and how they fit into the structure of the Friday night service. If you’ve ever wanted to become more intimately acquainted with the Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat service, now is your chance! All are welcome, and please RSVP below to make sure we have enough food.
$5 for members by October 27, $10 after, $18 for non-members. Children 12 and under eat free.

Made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Jewish Heritage Fund.
