CHAVURAT SHALOM

Exciting Updates to Chavurat Shalom at The Temple

Chavurat Shalom has long been a cherished community program, offering Jewish senior adults time and space to gather socially, engage in programming, and enjoy a weekly lunch at The Temple. We are pleased to share that we are re-energizing and revitalizing this program, with the goal of making it even better than it has been – and of interest to you!

While the program will still be open to community members and Temple members, it will now be more fully integrated under The Temple’s programming as a Jewish senior adult group providing a place for Jewish learning, belonging, and community.

We welcome interest in joining the Chavurat Shalom Committee so please contact Sarah Harlan, Chavurat Shalom Director, at sarah@thetemplelouky.org to let her know you’d like to get involved.

We extend our sincere thanks to the generous support from The Jewish Heritage Fund, and to Sarah Harlan and to the many Temple members and community participants who have made this program a weekly “standing appointment” at The Temple.

Chavurat Shalom is a unique opportunity for Jewish senior adults to meet socially and share ideas. Lunch is $5 and reservations are due by the Tuesday before the program. Please RSVP to 502-423-1818 or sarah@thetemplelouky.org. A vegetarian option is available if requested in advance. All programs will be held in the Heideman Auditorium at The Temple, 5101 U.S. Hwy. 42, unless otherwise noted in the listing, with lunch starting at noon, followed by our program at 1 pm. Transportation can be scheduled by calling Jewish Family & Career Services at 502-452-6341. Transportation to Chavurat Shalom is $5 round-trip. Chavurat Shalom is funded through the generosity of the Jewish Heritage Fund, The Temple, The Temple Brotherhood and Sisterhood, and many other generous donors.
